Re[2]: jde considered harmful

Semantic benefits in speed when byte compiled. EIEIO, on the other hand, can make an Emacs downright unusable if it i snot byte compiled. Since Semantic (via the database) and JDE both use EIEIO quite a bit, this can make things pretty slow. Of interest, after a parse finishes, the database kicks in, loading and updating various things in EIEIO, so the description sounds like an uncompiled EIEIO to me.
