Hi,
I just saw a thread in comp.emacs.xemacs where the poster first of all
had problems with etags but among other things also wanted to know if
ootags would be more appropriate to use.
If I remember correctly ootags was introduced by Bob Weiner together
with oobr to be a better etags for C++ and thus supplement oobr
better.
Anyway this got me interested and I looked into the files and saw
that, from a quick look, etags is ootags plus much more. It is,
according to the comments in both file headers, maintained by the same
person. ootags however is much older than etags. All of this seems to
suggest that ootags simply should be dropped as it is not needed
anymore and probably causes confusion.
Yours
