Better yet, see if you can start from xemacs -vanilla, and get the backtrace with M-x (planner-list-diary-entries "~/lewe/planner/cyclic_tasks" (5 28 2006) 1) RET In case it's data dependent, it would also be nice if we could have a copy of the diary file, or another one that causes the problem.
