You can produce it as follows:
make install > beta.err 2>&1 &
Oh, I though it would be done automagically. Is this documented
somewhere? I guess more build reports would contain this information if
it was.

in your setup.
My separate build package controls some of the build-report variables
and sets them according to the files it produces.
Cool, I'll take a look at that the next time I build an XEmacs.
