What window manager are you using?
That particular abort suggests that the window manager may be doing
something unusual. It happens when either the shell that the window
manager wraps XEmacs's dialog in has more than one child (which
shouldn't happen by definition of shell widget) or when the dialog is
not a direct child of the shell.
