Hi, regarding the tasks, please allow to mention several thing-at-point functions I've written some times ago thingatpt-utils http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/gnu-emacs-sources/2008-02/msg00000.html It delivers a wide range of movement-functions too. As this collection contains hundreds of functions, I didn't specify keys to it. Probably you will need only one or two functions at once: `forward-braced-atpt' and `backward-braced-atpt' in the given case, or `end-of-braced-atpt', `beginning-of-braced-atpt'.... Functions with char-classes in its name, as `alnum-atpt', are not available from XEmacs, i.e. return nil. That's no serious limitation.
