Thanks a lot. I compiled 21.5.24 and don't get that error any more --
actually, this email is sent from 21.5.24.
(Well, now I get different errors; I will prepare bug reports and send
them to xemacs-beta...)
Nope, no error, but 21.4 difference -- it was a very wierd interaction of VM,
dired, and lazy-lock (loaded in the 21.4 style) that corrupted the dired buffer
and made VM complain about the Summary buffer being read-only. Loading lazy-lock
the 21.5 way made it work again.
