Hi Aidan,
don't think it affects the cua-question.
Why not? It doesn’t strike me as a particularly controversial thing to say
that users on OS X and Windows are, as a rule, far more comfortable with
CUA-oriented key bindings than they are with emacs-oriented key
bindings.
As the article says:
(Big takeaway: If you’re a programmer or designer, then you’re not like
most people.)
Would not consider cua-mode-default a progress with respect to the
difficulties to expect.
Defaults have a much more limited impact on an expert’s use of a program
than they have on a beginner’s use of a program, since the expert is well
used to customisation. If you don’t consider CUA mode progress for you,
turn it off.
