I've debugged a while, and maybe I've trapped the error. Could you,

There shall also no need to set `remote-file-name-inhibit-cache' for
this special scenario. However, as said earlier, Emacs' default value of
10 might be useful in general, when you expect files being changed
outside XEmacs.
