Are you using a recent version of CVS (I'm pretty sure you
are, but
let's make sure ;-).
Jareth is, I'm using vanilla 1.9. I've built 1.10, but haven't
installed it yet.
Old versions of CVS (like 1.9.10) would not properly transmit the
text/binary attribute to clients (the problem is at the server side,
and not the client side).
We'll know shortly whether this is the problem after Jonathan checks
the stuff in etc/photos in 21.2.
