OK guys,
I completely removed all emacs.rpms
"yum remove emacs\*"
Then reinstalled xemacs
yum reinstall xemacs
edit init.el and custom.el, recompile each.
Now when I start xemacs --debug-init, I get this error:

yum list xemacs\*

Unless you really, really need these, I highly recommend removing
them. The aplus-fsf elisp is very badly written. It does Evil Stuff
to your xemacs just by being installed. See this bug report for more
information:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=523882
Try removing them and see if your XEmacs suddenly becomes happier.
