(require 'gnuserv)

say? Also, I couldn't find it in either directory.

I have all of these.
With correct timestamps? I, too, had all of these, but from an older
version. I recently switched to a new OS-version which resulted in a
new subdirectory $ARCH after the XEmacs build. This has been quite
empty.
