Look at the problems we have with dependencies on xemacs-base and efs.
I see this as a long run problem, that we're going to have to deal
with over and over again. I'd like to forestall that if a little
discussion and some work can do so.
If you don't want to deal with the PITA, it's your right to just say
no, you know. What I'm asking for is an informed assessment of how
the various PITAs balance out if (a) you have to deal with all of
them, or (b) you don't have to deal with any of them.
Do you think Lars would be amenable to actually splitting Gnus up if
we did the work? How about if we took over the maintenance of the
XEmacs-specific parts of Gnus?
