package install doesn't work
I'm trying to do a package install as documented (manually install
efs and xemacs-base, then do the rest with the package system).
No luck. It connects (ftp.xemacs.org) then issues 'quote user
"anonymous"'.
That produces the response "500 AUTH not understood".
Trying another ftp server produces the same failure. So I guess efs
is completely broken...
I'm falling back to sumo, which I had wanted to avoid.
