It's xemacs-21.4.15-10.EL.1, latest from redhat.
That's way old, we've fixed *a lot* of crashes since then.
I tried to build xemacs-21.4.20 but failed. It complains about:
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler
cannot create executables.
This is often distro-specific or perhaps you have an inappropriate
CFLAGS environment setting or something like that. That may or may
not apply to you, but we've very little information to go on here.
Feel free to send us the configure command line(s) you've tried and
config.log if you can't figure out what the problem is, but you're
likely to get better/faster help from a Red Hat or Fedora channel, so
try that too.
I was able to build aspell-0.60.5, but that doesn't help.
This is a 64-bit OS, maybe why it doesn't work. Xemacs on other redhat
systems with 32-bit OS works fine.
Possibly relevant, but XEmacs has worked fine on many 64-bit processors
and OSes since 1999. We have found *some* word-length issues every so
often (including some warnings and one audio-related crash recently),
but I would look to other issues, especially in the case of the build
failures.
