[A doctor.el] Years old namespace conflict in doctor.el

APPROVE doctor.el Will push in a day or so unless there's major complaint. Steve Youngs writes: In other words, an alias for #'identity. I substituted #'identity for #'// and a prefixed name for #'$. The interesting changes are in the first 50 lines of the first patch attached (with disposition "inline"). This lengthened many lines, so I decided this was a good opportunity to go through and clean up whitespace and reformat using more modern conventions. It wasn't terribly thorough, just the ones most obvious to me. The second patch is attached as an attachment since it really is just whitespace changes (including \n as whitespace). There's also a third commit in my branch which just updates the copyright dates to include 2013. No patch, no changelog, I'll just push it with the others unless somebody *really* cares.
