Why would it be an issue? Until the pdump is done, it uses './temacs' for
bootstrapping purposes, the same way the unexec() based code has done for
XEmacs and Emacs for at least a decade.
There *may* be some corner cases that the pdump code botches, and if you
find any we'd like to know - but I suspect that those wouldn't be related
to whether a previous XEmacs was installed. I'd be more likely to believe
that we've got a stray reference to a not-yet-installed package tree, actually.
Could you be more specific about what got you looking in this direction?
