APA> XEmacs Website Full-Text Search
APA> -------------------------------
Speaking as one who has just recently become
re-acquainted with the latest in XEmacs developments
after a lapse of two or three years, I must say that
this new feature is a genuine pleasure to see. As I
prowled through the many pages of the Web site last
week the one thought that kept recurring was: "I can't
believe there's no search engine here!"
Voilá! My wish has been granted.
However, I have just one question:
APA> Peter Brown has chosen and installed the
APA> Namazu[1] search engine ...
What syllable receives the accent? Is it pronounced
NAHM-a-zu, or na-MAH-zu? :-)
Second ... adding a search facility to my own Web site
has been high on my list of things to do for ages. I
was expecting to write one myself. (I wrote a fairly
simple one in Perl/CGI where I used to work.) However,
out of curiosity, last night I retrieved the Namazu
software, built and installed it. I was delighted at
how easy it was to get this thing installed and
working! Knowing that this engine is being used by no
less reputable a group than the XEmacs developers leads
me to believe that I will probably be implementing this
for my own use.
So thank you for providing this!
You may all return to work now.
