Perhaps better stated as:
As long as you resist the temptation to just add the inappropriate
keysym to the modifier, everything should work.
i.e. if you want the key to be a "Foo" modifier, change the keysym of
the key to a "Foo" keysym before adding it to the "Foo" modifier.
