Some hints...
I catted the attached file in a shell buffer.
My shell buffer survived, but a "*Warnings*" buffer popped up that said:

This is clearly a bug: no matter what binary characters got dumped
into my shell buffer, they should damned well not be being displayed
as Hebrew, even if I *did* have those fonts installed.
I was not able to reproduce this in "xemacs -q", "M-x shell".
I also killed the shell buffer; load-library shell-font; then
re-created the shell buffer. It didn't happen there either.
So I don't know what package provokes this. But it's all kinds
of badness.
