Yes, I tested it before sending that reply, and it was trivial to
cause this to happen - you can easily move down fast enough; you only
have to get half the modeline-width ahead of an elisp event loop. As
Mike clarified, event-window-y-pixel is relative to the Emacs window,
not an X window.
