After downloading cedet-common it became 'The wrong version of
Eieio is installed, please install 0.17beta3.'
Might someone advise me whether I should be looking to upgrade some
packages or downgrade others.
The impression I get is that the versions of eieio, ede, cedet, and
semantic are pretty tightly bound. I'm not sure how JDE fits in. I
don't know for sure if the stable versions in our package repository
are currently consistent, but I would suggest one of the following
strategies:
1. Use the stable versions exclusively
2. Use upstream bleeding edge versions exclusively
3. Accept maintainership of one or more of the troublesome packages
and make them work together. :-)
