Not necessarily:
- A user option is supposed to describe a global behavior. The behavior you
want appears to me very likely to change from search to search. That's the
reason why I hate case-fold-search. It says more or less "you (don't) want
case sensitivity all the time". It's stupid. Case sensitivity is heavily
dependant on the precise search you're doing right now.
- A function argument would be fine, but these functions have already a
prefix. So better write new functions.
