Describe the error messages you’re getting, and look into the values for
ispell-dictionary-alist . I should be able to give you something useful
tomorrow, either way :-)
Okay, I’ve installed ispell-francais on my machine, and
(setq ispell-dictionary "francais")
didn’t change the global default, which is a bug.
(setq-default ispell-local-dictionary "francais")
did, though, so I suggest adding that to your ~/.emacs, or ~/.xemacs/init.el
if you’ve moved to that.
