Not only the configure script looses. The linux installation looses

This must be a mistake somewhere. The packages are clearly in conflict
and rpm reports that. I got the same situation, on two different
machines, after doing upgrades from earlier versions of RH so my guess
is that there is some problem during the upgrade process.

Works fine. This is what I tried initially before I understood what
the source of the the problem was.

This is what I finally did and is the only right thing to do. I
suggest that both packages are removed first and then reinstall the
openmotif package.
