I also hate the fact that XEmacs currently consists of so many damn
little tiny pieces. I want the SUMO to be the default. Most people
will want it. I would prefer we move in the opposite direction and
provide an even more functional XEmacs that just built out of the box
with as many features and libraries as possible.
We could make XEmacs more modular by ripping up the C code to
e.g. make lwlib a separately installed library, make all the programs
in lib-src be separate nano-packages to be installed separately.
But it's unlikely our users will thank us for creating an app that
requires installing 100 separate packages to be fully functional.
Does XEmacs have to be the hardest app in the world to build and
install??
