Hi,
herewith I send a string-strip utility.
It results from a discussion at
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2006-06/msg00428.html
Conceived to remove whitespaces from the beginning and
end of a string, it's able to remove all specified
chars from the ends of a string whose contents might
also specified freely.
It makes writing a little bit faster occasionally.
What about a patch against subr.el?
