The other thing you might do is see if you can get the w3m people and
Bill P to sign off on "yes, this really does make things better" with
examples, or better yet, screen shots. Sounds tedious even to me, and
it won't guarantee a decision either way. But the more evidence that
there is visible (pun intended) benefit the easier it is to say yes.

Doesn't mean it won't go in. It is likely that I'll rewrite it as an
option, and possibly default it to off.
