xemacs beta list and gmane archive?

OT, but I'm asking here anyway. :-) I often use gmane to read xemacs beta mail (especially since stupid gmail never sends me my messages to the xemacs-beta list). This works quite nicely, but today I wanted to look up some older messages. The articles have been expired from gmane and are no longer available, but it does show the author and subject lines. Just no body. Is that something that some xemacs person did? If so, can that be changed so the messages aren't expired? Or is that a gmane problem?
