I've seen this before. You packed with GNU tar, but Martin unpacked
with a non-GNU tar. If you pack with a non-GNU tar (like the one
shipped with Solaris), you won't have this problem.
You might want to look at the directory tree. Perhaps the filnames
are just too annoyingly long.
