There's no correct and authoritative advice because it depends on the
local configuration. Historically (and a lot of us have been
upgrading packages for long enough to be historical) the location was
$prefix/lib. I believe this is still default in XEmacs 21.4. FHS
recommends $prefix/share, which is default in XEmacs 21.5.
Okay, it wasn't found under lib but was under share.
