Maybe this is part of a larger work with syncing custom.el et al on a
broader scale. It seems like we are synced up to 21.3 so maybe it
hasn't diverged that much since so it is feasible!?
Having said that, the elisp involved here is to hairy for me to even
find out where we differ in just this particular case. :-(
