There's one "DEFAULT_" too many in the above, the variable is currently 
USE_EMACS_AS_DEFAULT_APPLICATION_CLASS
And BTW, that already monstrous name does not contain any hints about what 
software it affects.  Make it USE_EMACS_AS_DEFAULT_XEMACS_APPLICATION_CLASS?
