Ummm... I would be inclined just to report it as a bug to the zsh
people
and ask them to fix it before it comes out of beta. :)
I have. The problem is that it exists at least as far back as
zsh-2.6-beta20 (June 1996) and zsh-3.0.[45] -- the Official Stable
released version so we will need to work around it for awhile.
