I got the same error with efs-1.22-pkg.tar.gz. It seems that there is
something wrong in the new efs.elc file which is compiled by 21.2.40
because efs.el without efs.elc or efs.elc of efs-1.21-pkg works good.
Yep, I'm in the process of re-building all the packages with 21.1.13.
