If it's really unrelated to autoloads, or some evil mode, it could
be a nasty memory corruption error (improper gcpro's, etc.). If so,
good luck tracking it down.
[ I suppose it could also be a cygwin problem (I assume that you're
using cygwin). Is there a correlation with the compiler used (cygwin,
mingw, vc++, etc.)? What's Paul using? ]
