Perhaps mh-e, tm, or whatever module of XEmacs is reponsible should do a bit
file-magic and guess the type of the file to use the correct MIME
type.
That's what the mime-types file is for.
Is there a reason (beside it's "beta"-status, I guess one should wait
for it to become stable) not to switch from TM to SEMI? I haven't had
any serious problems with it (that wasn't my fault, anyway) for
months, and it has popup-menus and stuff that is very XEmacsy. :-)
