Well, I'm not an XEmacs user. If somebody could give me a hint what to
add in tramp-compat.el, I'll apply. *Iff* it must be fixed in Tramp.
It is very likely that the real issue could be elsewhere. However, I
don't recall seeing it before upgrading to more recent versions of
Tramp, so it seems like some change in Tramp triggers it. Ideally the
root problem would be fixed of course.
