However, I have seen this problem, and I DO NOT have GNU binutils
and/or GNU ld. It's related to the version of gcc, but I don't
remember which versions did this and under what conditions. Haven't
seen it lately with gcc 2.95.3 or gcc 3.0.
Bizarre. I've only ever seen it with GNU ld/binutils, and using the
solaris versions has always cleared it up for me. Looks like we have
another candidate for the PROBLEMS file.
