No; it's always been "emacs".
Does I need to create a emacs terminfo entry ?
Only if your curses library ignores $TERMCAP; "shell" should set this
to something appropriate.
Also, note that the version of XEmacs itself shouldn't have any
bearing on this; it is all down to "shell", which is a separate
package.
