It's not an issue of blame; it's an issue of protecting AUCTeX users
and AUCTeX's good name. While I can't justify doing as much to
enable and encourage AUCTeX development as I would like to, I do
care about both.
AUCTeX 11.55's release announcement pretty strongly warned about using
XEmacs-21.4.16. However, according to Uwe Brauer, the XEmacs release
candidate in CVS (as of yesterday) was still experiencing problems in
connection with AUCTeX and shy groups. He did not give any details,
and I strongly urged him to do a report to you if he found anything
still amiss, as time is definitely running out according to your
release schedule. I certainly hope he has done so if his findings
were accurate.
