Exactly.
I was a bit worried when I started reading this thread, because going
around and ``cleaning up'' lots of bits of code that were implemented
with a style that isn't exactly what you prefer can be dangerous.
It's a great opportunity for accidentally breaking things and it makes
it harder to stay in synch with the original author's version of the
code.
Scott Fahlman used to refer to this sort of thing as ``pissing in the
corner'' as in marking your territory, and frowned on the practice.
If you going to change something that's currently working, you should
have a much better reason than stylistic differences.
