Does this mean that it _does_ work in an XEmacs configured with
'--with-gtk=no'? Perhaps ping Bill Perry (Cc'd)
No problem when I
compile without gtk.
I think I mentioned this to Bill a while ago in a previous version
of xemacs -- I can past eonly if I first clcik on the Copy button,
otherwise nothing goes into the pastboard (or whatever gnome calls
it).
Is it just the gzipped files in /usr/share/info? Are the
permissions
on that directory, or the file therein, any different from say
'/usr/info' or '/usr/local/info'?
Yes, only thoes; the files in /usr/local/info, or
/usr/local/libb/xemacs-21.5.8/info can be gzipped (or as you say,
even bzip2-ed.
I have the same ownerships/permissions -- and info freezes,
e.g. when it tried to gunzip kapathsea.info.gz.
I have to kill gzip te regain control over xemacs.
