Offix on SunOS 4.1.4

My configure does include offix support by default, but what is it? Can it work on my poor ol' SunOS which runs fvwm window manager (no CDE or OpenWin)? If yes, how do I use it? If no, I guess I should specify --with-offix=no, right? Thanks. -- /* Amir J.
