Is there still hope?
Looking at Alexander's code (e.g., at

it appears to be the frontend to the "dict" client that Torsten Hilbrich
talks about superseding with his more functional dictionary.el
(<URL:http://www.myrkr.in-berlin.de/dictionary/>). Since we currently
distribute dictionary.el in an official package, my opinion is that we
should replace the (now broken) link to Alexander's code with a link to
Torsten's web page.
