Mr. Stallman, I strogly suggest that you re-read my messages.
I never said
I *HAD* persuaded anyone to do anything ... I stated that if I was asked
for my OPINION (and please sir, may I have your blessing to have an opinion?)
that my OPINION would be that people should spend efforts on EGCS and XEmacs,
rather than on GCC and GNU Emacs. I have (in my mind) very valid reasons for
my opinion, and to be frank I see no need for defending an opinion. You are
free to disagree with me all you like. And the reason I even raised Emacs
on the GCC mailing lists was due to a discussion on the development model,
and both gcc and emacs have a similar development and managerial model, and
in both cases there are competeing or divergent projects with DIFFERENT
management styles that seem to atract more active development. I perfectly
rational parallel case, IMHO.
Before you accuse someone of lying, you should see if you know all
the
facts.
Touche'. Like your remark about "I see you dont want to help with
GCC" when
all I did was have the audacity (or maybe just plain gumption) to disagree
with your statements and attitudes? Speak not of truth sir, it seems to be
a more maleable concept in your world than it is in mine.
