Yeah, but I think it only works for fairly trivial cases (well, it
will work for ASCII). What needs to be done in my patch is
s/get-char-table/get-range-char-table/
What happened is that I tried to cut from XEmacs at home (where I had
tested) and paste into XEmacs-at-school-in-a-tty, and this failed
dismally (SPC/TAB confusion). So I replicated the edits at school,
and generated a patch, and sent it.
New patch going to xemacs-patches; I'm pretty sure (given your
testing) that it's right.
