linux console crashes

i got two crashes with beta34, checked out this morning, running xemacs on the linux console the 1st crash while -loading- vm the 2nd, i loaded gnus, opened a group, and got a crash when opening an article i had a look at the lisp trace of gnus' crash: xemacs goes away while splitting the windows to show the article as with the vm crash, xemacs trashed the screen with strange looking glyphs, leaving the console in a scrambled state a cursory glance at the stack show problems instantiating an image... i'm away until monday, and i'm on a hurry, so that it's the only bug report i'm going to submit, for now ah, i'm using svgatextmode to get a larger console, say 130x40 chars, and i have to say that gpm doesn't see all that space (the mouse pointer cannot access the last lines back to you next monday, ciao
