Windows runtime problem: runtime error R6027

Help! I just patched up my workspace-o-mammoth-changes from 21.2.27 to 21.2.30, and now temacs bombs out right at the beginning, with: runtime error R6027 - not enough space for lowio initialization This error is not even documented!
