Up until now, I would have said "no", but not anymore. I'm now seeing
this bug in 21.5 as well. And if I build without BerkeleyDB the
problem goes away.

This was really weird, I couldn't find _anything_ from XEmacs that was
using libnss_db.

Actually, no. This is a remarkably (for me) clean install of
Slackware 8.1. Haven't gotten around to butchering my libc yet. :-)
